I had to make sure all horses that were running had current coggins on file. I collected, secured, and monitored foal papers and digital certificates for all horses on grounds and that were racing. For all the claiming races I had the check the claim box, when there was a claim I had to following proper claiming procedures to insure the proper personal were informed. Some mornings I would fill in and help with entries. I would assist the racing secretary with the drawing of the race card, which included putting the draw on the computer and smoking the overnights.

Monitor daily stable area activities and practices and make sure they're compliant with racing commission rules and regulations. Monitor the outriders compliance with racetrack rules during training. Monitor starting gate procedures. Assist regulatory veterinarians with follow up on covered horses barred from training or vandoff during training in racing. Review ship-in and out slips and undertake appropriate the investigations. Conduct random barn inspections to monitor safety and regulatory compliance including fire safety regulations.
