JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs maintenance on racetrack and turf courses as needed.
Responsible to be knowledgeable with all machinery and equipment necessary to perform track and turf maintenance.
Responsible for the direct supervision, evaluation and training of Track Crew.
Responsible for knowledge of and adherence to Company and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Responsible to assist in the development and adhere to the guidelines of the departmental budget.
Acts with utmost discretion and maintains confidentiality in handling all documentation and information, including team member files information/reports.
Responsible for interviewing applicants, issuance of discipline & coaching at all levels and evaluation of the Track Crew.
Responsible for monitoring departmental payroll and attendance of Track Crew.
Establishes and maintains an excellent working relationship with all related departments.
Maintain professionalism at all times when working with other team members and/or guests.
Monitor guest behavior during assigned shift, seek the necessary actions for unruly guests.
Communicate (both written and verbal) with and promote positive team member and guest relations.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Five (5) years experience with Dirt and Turf Tracks, required.
Minimum Three (3) years Track Superintendent experience or equivalent Required.
Valid driver’s license required, CDL license preferred.
Must be able to successfully complete the background check.
Must have strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Act with discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. without difficulty.
Ability to bend, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat and grasp as needed.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Assignments covering large areas with long walking distances, Work areas could have high volumes, diverse clientele, and noise.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management is mandatory.
Must be able to wear and appear comfortable in the assigned uniform provided by Delaware Park.
Must be able to work in all weather elements including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
