Track Superintendent

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Performs maintenance on racetrack and turf courses as needed.
 Responsible to be knowledgeable with all machinery and equipment necessary to perform track and turf maintenance.
 Responsible for the direct supervision, evaluation and training of Track Crew.
 Responsible for knowledge of and adherence to Company and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
 Responsible to assist in the development and adhere to the guidelines of the departmental budget.
 Acts with utmost discretion and maintains confidentiality in handling all documentation and information, including team member files information/reports.
 Responsible for interviewing applicants, issuance of discipline & coaching at all levels and evaluation of the Track Crew.
 Responsible for monitoring departmental payroll and attendance of Track Crew.
 Establishes and maintains an excellent working relationship with all related departments.
 Maintain professionalism at all times when working with other team members and/or guests.
 Monitor guest behavior during assigned shift, seek the necessary actions for unruly guests.
 Communicate (both written and verbal) with and promote positive team member and guest relations.
 Performs all other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Five (5) years experience with Dirt and Turf Tracks, required.
 Minimum Three (3) years Track Superintendent experience or equivalent Required.
 Valid driver’s license required, CDL license preferred.
 Must be able to successfully complete the background check.
 Must have strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills.
 Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel.
 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
 Act with discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
 Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. without difficulty.
 Ability to bend, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat and grasp as needed.
 Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
 Assignments covering large areas with long walking distances, Work areas could have high volumes, diverse clientele, and noise.
 Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management is mandatory.
 Must be able to wear and appear comfortable in the assigned uniform provided by Delaware Park.
 Must be able to work in all weather elements including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
 Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
