The State of Colorado Division of Racing Event’s is accepting applications for employment for State Steward(s).
The applicant should have strong leadership and people skills, preference for someone that has previous employment as a Steward or Racing Official. A successful applicant shall be certified by a national organization (Racing Officials Accreditation Program) and remains current and in good standing with that certification.
The applicant shall be responsible to enforce the laws of the State of Colorado and the rules promulgated by the Racing Commission. Applicants will make decisions regarding possible rule infractions, attend hearings and issue rulings on all racing matters during the racing season. The applicant must have communication skills, both verbally and in written form, be computer literate and possess strong people skills.

Skills: Knowledge of the racing industry as it pertains to regulations and enforcement. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds.
Physical Expectations: 20-20 vision (corrected) and the ability to distinguish colors and be able to climb several flights of stairs daily. Requires walking to and from barn area and the racing office. Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
