The Position
TRPB is currently seeking a Betting Analyst to join the team at the Fair Hill, Maryland headquarters.
If you are a self-starter and multi-tasker, interested in horse racing and betting, proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have excellent problem-solving skills, we want to hear from you. The candidate for this position needs to have a basic understanding of pari-mutuel and/or sports betting and/or financial markets, enjoy working with a team and be detail oriented. Strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail are necessary for success. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn more about betting and the measures used to analyze betting, which safeguard integrity in the Horse Racing industry.
Position Purpose
The betting analyst position is located within TRPB's Wagering Integrity Unit. This Analyst will assist team members with maintenance and operation of TRPB's Wagering Analysis & Security Platform, a proprietary system which delivers integrity tools to analyze betting for member racetracks and contracted regulators throughout North America. The analyst will assist in the development of models and processes to analyze and report on betting anomalies.
Certificates and/or Licenses
• Documents that establish both identity and employment eligibility
• Valid Driver’s License
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Generation of daily and weekly summary reports
• Monitoring daily data uploads and ensuring all such data is processed completely
• Contacting appropriate individuals to obtain missing data
• Updating various forms of information for 40+ member racetracks
• Monitoring report access and report function within TRPB's web-based portal
• Answering inquiries from internal and external clients
• Duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of pari-mutuel and/or sports betting and/or financial markets
• Strong electronic communication skills (Email, Teams, Zoom etc.)
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in mathematics
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Respect/understanding of competitive/confidential information
• Must successfully undergo a thorough Background Examination
• Must have own transportation to get to and from the TRPB office
Assets
• Knowledge of RStudio and/or SQL is preferred
• Second language

• Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET
