General Manager - North Dakota Horse Park

General Manager HRND Proposal 

Horse Race ND (HRND) is seeking a Full Time General Manager to manage the ND Horse Park located in  Fargo, ND.  

Duties will include but are not limited to: Managing the day-to-day operations of the track, conducting  live racing put on annually, including completing grant requests, staffing, and adhering to state  regulations, working to solicit sponsorships and or partnerships for the track, raising awareness of horse  racing in ND throughout the communities, general marketing, securing other events throughout the year  to bring in revenue to the horse park and managing the OTB located in Fargo. 

Job requirements/Ideal skills: Must be able to work flexible hours depending on events happening at the  track, must have knowledge of horse racing industry in some capacity, strong communication & people skills, general marketing knowledge, ability to problem solve on the go, strong management background and ability and willingness to learn. Candidates must pass background check. 

Pay: Competitive salary dependent on experience with opportunity for commissions on sponsorships  brought in. 

General Manager will report to the HRND Board of Directors and will also be required to attend their board meetings.  

Hiring process will be as follows: Job posted for minimum of 30 days, applications reviewed by ND  Racing Commission, HRND Board of Directors and ND Horse Park Foundation Board of Directors, finalists  chosen, and interviews and background checks completed by representatives of each board/commission and final consensus decision made. Target start date for new GM would be January 1, 2022.  

GM contract would have a probationary period of 6 months at which time if job duties were not being  fulfilled, they could be let go without remaining salary paid out.  Please email your resume to: fargoracinggm@gmail.com
