What You Will Do

The Oregon Racing Commission (ORC) is a one-program agency charged with responsibility to regulate all aspects of the pari-mutuel industry and therefore, to protect the licensees, the equine athletes, the public and the state.  At the same time, the ORC encourages and supports members of the industry in promoting live handle growth and enhancing live racing by attracting businesses to Oregon.  This includes live race meets conducted at horse tracks, off-track wagering sites, wagering on races previously held and multi-jurisdictional simulcasting and interactive wagering totalizator hub licensees who conduct business through a closed loop subscription and by telephone communication.

This is the sole position in the Pari-mutuels unit. The purpose of the mutuels auditing unit is to ensure the integrity of the totalizator system, execute the planning, data gathering, and analytical tasks associated with performing financial, regulatory, information technology audits. Additional duties include verification of proper payouts and generally overseeing pari-mutuels for the benefit of the racing participants and the wagering public. The assignment for this position is at the commercial racetrack.

What We Are Looking For

Two years of financial auditing experience including one year of experience auditing government agencies and a Bachelor's degree with thirty quarter or twenty semester hours in Accounting and Auditing
*Two more years of accounting or financial auditing experience may substitute for the degree.

  • Knowledge of state government processes.
