Clocker                          

Under the direction of the Racing Secretary, clock morning horse workouts and record times , in accordance with New York State Gaming Commission, Company’s applicable Operational and GuestPath Universal Service Standards.

  • Responsible for keeping records of such workouts by loading information in the computer and sending to eqibase for publication
  • Confirm all horses have proper workouts and are eligible to race
  • Ensure all New York State Gaming Commission regulations and procedures are being followed
  • Must have experience with Incompass computer system and be able to utilize all aspects of the system
  • Working knowledge of Racing Officials duties and ability to substitute if needed

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED or TASC degree required
  • Must have the ability to be licensed & approved by the New York State Gaming Commission
  • Minimum of Five Years experience with Thoroughbreds required
  • Working knowledge of Racing Officials duties and ability to substitute if needed
  • Basic thoroughbred knowledge required,  racetrack experience preferred

 

Computer Skills:

  • Intermediate computer skills 
  • Basic math skills, addition and subtraction

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to perform tasks independently  
  • Ability to understand and follow OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to adhere to GuestPath’s Universal Service Standards

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to maneuver around horses 
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to hold and work several stop watches simultaneously
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform duties
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • Visual acuity sufficient for knowing activity in surroundings

 

Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to outdoor weather conditions in all seasons, including variable temperatures and wet and/or humid conditions
  • Noise level may be moderate to high
  • Work around Thoroughbred Horse
