POSITION TITLE:  Test Barn Veterinarian

The State of Colorado Division of Racing Event’s is accepting applications for employment for a Test Barn Veterinarian.

The applicant should have strong leadership and people skills, preference for someone that has previous employment and experience as a Veterinarian in a racetrack setting. 

The applicant shall be responsible for all areas of the test barn. To collect specimens of blood and/or urine before or after race; follows property protocol as directed by the assigned Racing Commission and Agent in Charge; maintains a clean and safe working environment; provides  support to Veterinarian Assistants  and performs related tasks within all areas of assignment.

Applicant will be responsible for documenting the collection of blood and/or urine specimens and attend and testify in hearings on all racing matters during the racing season. The applicant must have communication skills, both verbally and in written form, be computer literate and possess strong people skills.

Skills:  Knowledge of the racing industry as it pertains to regulations and enforcement. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds.
