ROAP is currently seeking a part-time office assistant in the Lexington office.
SUMMARY:
Assist with various administrative duties as needed for the Racing Officials Accreditation Program
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Organize meetings and materials for various committees and the board of directors
- Responsible for categorizing, digitizing and uploading race videos into the video library
- Research and request potential race videos for inclusion in the library
- Assist in maintaining ROAP database with data entry
- Provide support in updating website: schedule of events, post articles of interest, news releases, and related educational materials
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
Responsibility for Contacts:
This position interacts with racing officials, stewards, judges, ROAP board members, industry representative, race tracks, accrediting universities and other business contacts.

Education and/or Experience:
Knowledge of the horse racing industry, specifically identifying race related incidents preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Good computer skills necessary and video digitizing/editing preferred
- Knowledgeable with Adobe Premier, Windows Media Maker, Vimeo and basic CMS systems
- Ability to work independently and achieve goals in a timely fashion
- Capability to communicate effectively: in person and written
Physical Demands:
- The most important physical demands of this position are the ability to talk or hear when communication face-to-face or by telephone. The ability to use hands, handle feel and reach with hands and arms is also very important.
- No lifting or moving is required
- Close vision is required in order to use a computer.
Work Environment:
This position is performed in an office environment.
Schedule:
20-25 hours weekly at $10.00/hr
Schedule is flexible within Monday-Friday 8-5 work week
