Racing Official

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) is seeking a full-time Racing Official to work at Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course. A travel stipend is provided to go to Saratoga.

Reporting to the Racing Secretary, the Racing Official will be responsible for various racing department tasks, including but not limited to:

• Taking entries in the morning. Verifying information and completing entries in the Incompass system.
• Assisting with the claims in the afternoon.
• Working in the placing stand in the afternoon.
• Assisting the Stakes Coordinator.
• Working on ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent and a good understanding of the racing industry. Prior experience working in a racing department is preferred, but not required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and computer proficiency are a must. This job requires working weekends and some holidays.
