Compliance Investigator

The Colorado Division of Racing Events is looking for a Temporary Compliance Investigator for the 2018 summer meet at Arapahoe Park Racetrack located in Aurora, CO. The job begins April 30, 2018 through August 17, 2018.  Employees in this position are responsible for regulatory and criminal investigative duties for the Division of Racing Events.  
 
The employee in this position must possess superior critical thinking skills and have the ability to effectively work in an environment of competing priorities and interests.
 
Job Duties: Conducts specialized horse and human investigations, involving medication violations alleged regulatory and/or criminal activities under Colorado rules and regulations and statutes regulating horse owners and trainers, jockey and other licensees, pertaining to:

  • Enforcement of criminal, civil and administrative statues, rules or regulations;  
  • Detect, collect and preserve applicable evidence; and to
  • Prepare case reports for prosecution to Division Attorney; State Attorney General; and to
  • Present the case through testimony in a steward board hearing or commission hearing.
