Veterinarian (Part Time) - New York

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) is seeking a Per-Diem Veterinarian to work on select days at Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course.

Qualified candidates should have at least two years experience in equine practice and must hold a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree. Familiarity with thoroughbred or standardbred racing and industry protocols is a plus. The successful candidate must hold a current NYS Veterinarian license or have the ability to become licensed.

The Veterinarian will administer Lasix to horses on race days, complete pre-race inspections for horses scheduled to race and make recommendations to scratch a horse if unsound, injured or ill. In addition, he/she will help to maintain department files documenting inspection history of horses running at NYRA.
